TEL athletes enjoy a chilly beach run at the Borders XC in Spittal

The third race of the Borders Cross Country Series took place on the frost-covered beach at Spittal.  In freezing conditions, Bridget Harley (14-15) was first female over the line, 10th overall and first in her age category in a time of 11m09s.

Angus Wright (14-15) took first East Lothian position and third overall in a time of 10m20s.

Innes Wright (12-13) secured second East Lothian position, fifth overall and first in his age category in 10m43s with Robbie Anderson (16-17) was third East Lothian athlete, sixth overall and first in his age category in 10m50s.

Taking top position in her age category was Sadie Slifer (12-13) third in 13m42s.

Other noteworthy performances were from Jack Renton (12-13) 15th in 11m28s; Isaac Stevenson (12-13) 40th; Jessica Bullen (12-13) 45th and Roisin Napier (12-13) 54th

The adults took to a longer and more challenging course with Cameron Bullen securing second East Lothian position, 6th overall and second Junior Male in 24m28s.
