As we get deeper into winter the pace of the calendar of Cross Country races has increased for Team East Lothian athletes. The latest instalments of both the East District League and the Borders XC Series were been run this weekend with a number of athletes “doing the double”.
On Saturday at Alloa, Team East Lothian athletes took part in snowy, icy, muddy and chilly conditions, and delivered some impressive results with Bridget Harley winning the U13 Girls race, Cera Gemmell winning the U15 Girls race, Angus Wright taking 2nd place in the U13 Boys race and Innes Wright finishing 5th in the U11 Boys race.
Other Team East Lothian results; Freya Harley 33rd in U11 Girls, Corrie Lupton was 43rd and Fraser Lupton was 49th in U11 Boys, Zoe McDonald was 18th in U13 Girls, Corey Campbell was 44th and Aiden Page was 53rd in U13 Boys, Robbie Anderson was 33rd in U15 Boys, Joe Donnelly was 19th in U17 Men.
On Sunday, action moved to Dunbar where the second event in this seasons Borders XC Series took place. Last season Team East Lothian won a number of the individual age group titles and also the over all team trophy at the Borders XC Series. So it was great to see the team running in such numbers and delivering great results at Dunbar; a win for Fraser Kelly and strong finishes across the age groups for a range of Team East Lothian athletes.
