Team East Lothian athletes had huge success at the National Sprint Relay Championships at Grangemouth on Sunday, 8th July 2018.
Congratulations must first go to the Senior Women’s quartet of Kerry Morris, Tarryn Wood, Beth Howard and Kate Johnstone who led the way, collected gold, and became National Champions in the 4x100m final, with a time of 48.64.


In the U13 Girls 4x100m final, Katie Alexander, Gemma Walkingshaw, Olivia Robbins and Lucy Thomson ran 58.13 to finish in silver medal position in a photo finish.
The U13 Boys 4x100m final saw Tom Kelman, Finn Middleton, Aidan Page and Max Evans run a 55.78 to finish in Bronze medal position.
The Girls U15 4x100m race confirmed the depth and strength of the Team East Lothian sprint squad with Joanne Welch, Laura Buchan, Marcia Callendar and Lily Middleton running into Bronze medal position in a time of 52.75 while Megan Cumming, Esme Slifer, Erin Hall and Evie Welch ran a time of 57. 48 to finish just outside the medals.
Finally, Evie Walsh, Esme Slifer, Erin Walsh and Lily Middleton ran in the Mixed U15 4x300m final to finish in a time of 3:14:04 and pick up another Team East Lothian Bronze medal.
The results continue a successful year for Team East Lothian with athletes delivering on their potential at national championships, youth development leagues and open graded events.
