Busy weekend with the NB Santa Beach Fun Run, FoxTrail Series and Borders XC!

TEL runners donned their Santa hats for the North Berwick Santa Beach Fun Run on Saturday.  Robbie Anderson was first male and Cera Gemmell first female in the 5k race with Fraser Kelly winning the 10k.

Also on Saturday Flora Henry won the FoxTrail Winter Series 5k race at Balgone in a time of 21m34s beating her Dad to the finish line.  Well done Flora!

The fourth race in the Borders XC Series took place on Sunday in Spittal.  It was a tough beach race on soft sand with many juniors getting their feet wet in the surf.  Team East Lothian dominated the race with Flora Henry (14-15) consolidating her FoxTrail 5k win with her 4th consecutive first junior female position in 11m15s.  Angus Wright (12-13) was first East Lothian athlete, finishing second overall in 9m58s and first in his age category.

Finishing in the top ten – Joe Donnelly 16-17 was third overall and first in his age category in 10m05s; Cameron Bullen second 16-17; Corey Campbell third 12-13; Robbie Anderson second 14-15; Innes Wright first 10-11 in 10m49s and Angus Chandler third 14-15.

Great performances also from Jack Renton (12-13) and Oliver Coghlan (10-11).

Esme Callander was first F16-17 in 12m33s and rounding off the top 10 female runners were Olivia Robbins third 12-13 and Sadie Slifer second 10-11 with Jessica Bullen sixth 12-13.

The seniors also took to the beach with Fraser Kelly fifth overall, first junior man and first East Lothian athlete in a time of 24m02s.

There were impressive performances from the women with XC Managers Megan Wright (HBT F40+) finishing 5thoverall, second in her age category and first East Lothian woman in 27m26s and Rhona Anderson (DRC F50+) first for her club, 6th overall and first in her age category in 29m22s. TEL coach Jamie Wilson (M50+) also gave a great performance.
