Cera Gemmell came home with a clutch of medals after representing Scotland last weekend at The British Cross Challenge races at Dundonald in Belfast, which featured the Celtic XC plus the Home Countries XC.
A flawless run saw Cera secure the individual Gold metal for the U20 women’s Celtic XC and her outstanding performance cemented the Celtic XC Gold for the Scotland Team, with Scotland taking Silver in the Home Countries event!
At home, many athletes competed in the Scottish East District XC League in Livingston on Saturday. For the third and final meet of the series, conditions were perfect with a crisp cold day and hard underfoot.
The U11 Boys put in a great team effort with Jake Page 15th in 6m28s; Fraser Lupton 18th in 6m32s and Josh Liddell 32nd in 6m53s, consolidating TEL into 4thplace in the Team Results.
U13 TEL Boys took an amazing 2nd in the Team Results, missing overall first place by just one point, thanks to Corey Campbell storming over the line into 2nd in 11m 2s with Innes Wright 9th in 12m1s and Aidan Page 11th in 12m5s, both battling for their position to the line! Solid performances also from Connor Lupton and Isaac Stevenson.
Flora Henry (U15 girls) came striding over the line in 8th in 15m 56s. Angus Wright (U15 boys) charged over the line into 3rd place in 14m 3s with Angus Chandler (U15 boys) a solid 10th in 14m 54s.
Joe Donnelly (U17 men) took 17th with an impressive sprint finish in 23m 46s and Robbie Anderson (U17 men) finishing well in 24th in 24m 55s.
In the senior women’s race, Megan Wright (HBT V) came an impressive 17th in 25m 42s.
FoxTrail Winter Running Series held their 4th race at Foxlake Adventures, Dunbar. Conditions were good underfoot, the wind kept at a minimum. Oliver Coghlan was the first junior athlete taking an impressive 4th overall and 3rd male in 22m 31s.
In the 16k race, Andrew Brown came striding over the finish line in 1hr 2m 45s take first place.
