FPSG Seniors and U17 Championships roundup

In blustery but dry conditions at the FPSG Seniors and U17 Championships in Grangemouth on the 17th of August, Team East Lothian athletes claimed podium positions.

There was Gold for Cera Gemmell, competing in the 5000m U20 women’s event, securing the win in 16m51.01s.

In a terrific final, Adam Hoole, who was recently crowned English U17 Decathlon Champion 2019, took the Silver medal and a Personal Best in the 100m Hurdles in a time of 13.52s.  Hoole also competed in the U17 Long Jump coming 5th in 6.20m and 6th in the High Jump in 1.72m.

It was Double Bronze Medals for Grace Brennan taking well-deserved third place podium positions in both the U17 300m Hurdles in a time of 44.77 and the Pole Vault in a jump of 2.75m.

Giving an excellent performance and just missing out on a podium place, was 4th place Esme Callander in the U20 women’s 5000m in a Personal Best of 20m06.7s.

Securing 5th place in the U17 Hammer was Elana Kerr in a throw of 40.57m.

Laura Buchan took 6th place in the U17 women’s Triple Jump in 10.04m

Battling through the heats and semis was Flora Henry who took a respectable 8th place in the 800m U17 race while Cameron Bullen also secured an 8th place and a Personal Best in 16m12.91s in the U20 5000m.

Taking 10thplace in the grueling Men’s 3000m steeplechases was Fraser Kelly in 10m19.65s

Other noteworthy performances were from Joanne Welch (U17) 12th Discuss; Laura Buchan (U17) 13thLong Jump; Elana Kerr (U17) 15th Discuss; Kerry Morris (SW) 100m; Angus Chandler (U17) 1500m and Robbie Anderson (U17) 1500m.
