Competitive opportunities opened up for athletes in August, with Team East Lothian athletes starting to make their mark again.
TEL’s Cory Campbell continued to take big strides forward as he made the trip to the British Milers Club event in Trafford to post a new U15 800m personal best time of 2m03.20s.
Club mates also took to the hills at the Cadmium Rollercoaster hill running competition held near Peebles on the 15th of August. To comply with Covid-19 related guidance, races were restricted to juniors, field size was limited to 20 per race, and a simplified 3.5km course sticking to the main paths was used to minimise the need for course marshals.
Bridget Harley finished the U18 women’s race in a strong second place in a time of 16m13s ,while Angus Wright came fifth in a challenging U18 men’s race, with brother Innes Wright finishing eighth in the U15 boy’s race.
