It was set to be a warm and challenging day for the runners that took the line at this years Scottish 10km Race which included Team East Lothian’s Emma Coyle and Joe Fraser.
Emma is part of the adult frame running group at Team East Lothian training in the longer distances with sessions created by Joe. Joe took part in the race to test his endurance as well as being a support runner for Emma. The two have been putting great effort into their individual training behind the scenes and it seemed to pay off as they crossed the line together in a fantastic time of 45 minutes and 51 seconds!
Emma was over the moon with her performance and couldn’t be more grateful of the support from Joe encouraging her at the toughest points during the race in the heat, along with fellow frame running friends and her husband cheering on from the side. Joe found the race went surprisingly well, although a few moments posed a challenge for the frame, such as the turning point at the halfway mark and the downhills causing the frame to speed up.
A big well done to these athletes for their individual performances and team effort!
