East District XC Relay Champs – Team East Lothian

Event: Scottish East District Cross Country Relay Championships

Conditions: Grey and cloudy weather

Terrain: Moderately hilly, firm trails and grassy sections

Team East Lothian – United in Spirit and Performance

Young Females (Race 1 – 12:00 PM)

Team East Lothian – 9th place

Total time: 30:48

Legs: Josie Macintyre (11:00), Ava-Rose Curtis (10:24), Imogen Turner (09:24)

A fantastic team effort from our young female athletes! Josie and Ava-Rose laid a strong foundation, and Imogen’s inspiring final leg surged the team forward by 10 places.

Young Males (Race 2 – 12:40 PM)

Team East Lothian A – 5th place

Total time: 26:45

Legs: Adam Connolly (10:06), Tom Ibbs (8:38), Joe Smith (8:01)

An electrifying performance from Team A! Adam set the pace, Tom kept the momentum, and Joe delivered the fastest time on the course. The team narrowly missed the podium by just 5 seconds, but their unity and determination were second to none.

Team East Lothian C – 21st place

Total time: 29:30

Legs: Seb Owens (11:01), Isaac Swan-Ashe (9:26), Frank Brown (9:03)

Team C showed true East Lothian spirit, with each runner giving their all and encouraging one another throughout.

Although Team East Lothian B (Angus Holland, Frank Orsi, Thomas Gornall) did not finish, their effort and enthusiasm were outstanding.

 The club’s supportive atmosphere shone brightly, with runners and supporters cheering each other on and celebrating every performance.

The next cross country event will be the National XC Relays on the 25th October in Cumbernauld. Team East Lothian heads there with pride, unity, and a shared goal to continue building on this incredible team spirit. Good luck to all our athletes!
