BUCS Indoor Championships – 13th – 15th Feb 2026

BUCS ( British Universities & Colleges Sport) Indoor champs were held from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th February in Sheffield. We had 5 athletes selected to compete for their university.

It was great to see Adam Hoole (Heriot Watt) back in action after injury. He ran 7.99 in the 60mH final to claim a brilliant bronze medal. Adam also reached the final of the Shot, finishing 9th with a throw of 12.79m

Alister Mackay (Strathclyde) also qualified for the 60mH final with a PB of 8.51 where he finished 7th. Ali also competed in Long Jump, reaching the final where he jumped 6.83m, finishing 6th. To finish off his weekend he finished 4th in the Pole Vault with a PB of 4.43m.

Also running the 60mH was Oscar Hennessey Leach (Edinburgh) finishing 9th overall with a time of 8.69

Jamie Smith (Edinburgh) ran 1.55:49 in the 800m to qualify for the semi-finals. He finished 12th overall with a time in the semis of 1:55.34.

Erin Hall (Stirling) had a great performance in the Triple Jump, qualifying for the final and jumping a PB of 11.44m.
