A contingent from the Team East Lothian endurance squad had “a day at the races” on Sunday when they took part in the Scottish 10k road race, held in conjunction with the Scottish Half Marathon and starting and finishing at the Musselburgh Horse Race Course. The Musselburgh Race Course has an historic link with athletics through the New Years Day sprints.
It was a case of PBs all round with congratulation to Fraser Kelly who finished 6th overall in a new PB of 36:07, Cameron Bullen who finished 20th overall in a new PB of 38:19 and Esme Callander who finished 11th Female runner with a new PB of 42:44.
In other weekend action, Cera Gemmell won the Portobello parkrun 5k on Saturday by setting a new female course record in a time of 17:33. When confirmed, that’s likely to be a top 5 UK-wide parkrun time for an U17 woman this year.
