TEL athletes gain Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals at scottishathletics Track & Field Champs & National Outdoor Opens.

The scottishathletics Track and Field Championships and National Outdoor Opens took place over the weekend with Team East Lothian athletes travelling to Grangemouth, Kilmarnock and Inverness to compete.

There were outstanding performances from Michael Welch (U13B) who competed in three events and came 1st in both the Shot Put in 9.23m and Discus in 23.66m and 3rd in the Javelin in 25.20m while taking new Personal Bests in both the Discus and Javelin.

Also competing in three events was Adam Hoole (U17) who came 1st in the 100m in 14.09s and 2nd in both High Jump in 1.71m and Shot Put in 10.54m.

Further first places were from Flora Henry (U17) with a new Personal Best in the 1500m in a time of 4m44.37s; Cera Gemmell (U20) also taking a Personal Best in the 5000m in 17m07.86s; Grace Brennan (U17) in the 300m in 46.3s and Innes Wright (U13) in 1500m in 4m58.91s.

Taking well deserved second places were Euan Grierson (TEL U15B) 100m in a Personal Best of 12.01s; Grace Brennan (U17) Pole Vault in 2.70m and Olivia Robbins (U13) 1500m in a Personal Best of 5m09.49s.

Third places went to Euan Grierson (U15B) 300m in 40.41s and Laura Buchan (U17) triple jump in 9.95m.

Competing strongly and securing fourth place were athletes Omar Bajo (U13B) 100m PB; Lewis Goodall (U20) 200m; Corey Campbell (U15) 1500m; Andrew Gilbert (U15) High Jump PB; Joe Donnelly (U20) 800m; Cameron Smith (U20) 400m Hurdles PB and Elana Kerr (U17) Discuss PB and 5th Hammer.

Athletes gaining well deserved places in their Finals were Angus Wright (U15) 5th 1500m PB; Tarryn Wood (U20) 5th Long jump PB; Flora Henry (U17) 5th 800m PB; Erin Hall (U15G) 6th Long jump; Joanne Welch (U17) 5th Discus, 7th Hammer and 7th 100m PB; Robbie Anderson (U17) 11th 1500m PB; Aidan Page (U15) 12th 1500m PB; Stella McGregor (U15) 13th Long Jump; Bridget Harley (TEL U15) 10th 1500m and Rudie Shearer (U15) 16th 1500m.

Other noteworthy performances were from Angus Chandler (U17) 800m PB; Stella McGregor (U15) 100m PB and Cameron Smith (U20) 200m PB.
