Team East Lothian junior hill runners were among the young athletes who gathered in Greenock on Sunday for the scottishathletics Junior Hill Running Championships.
Angus Wright stormed to Gold in the Boys U15 4km race in an impressive time of 14m53s, taking the win nearly two minutes ahead of second place.
Bridget Harley secured a Bronze medal in the U17 Women’s 7km race in 33m14s, well ahead of her nearest rival.
Robbie Anderson finished a strong eight place in the U17 men’s 7km race in an impressive 35m03s.
Elsewhere, at the Forth Valley League on Saturday in Livingston, Team East Lothian runners represented their local clubs with First places won by Rory Burns (U13 HRC) 100m in 14.5s; Erin Hall (U15 HRC) 100m in 14s; Cerys Wright (U11 HRC) 800m in 2m48.2s; Olivia Robbins (U13 DRC) 800m in 2m33.5s; Emily Atkinson (U11 HRC) 800m in 2m55.2s and Gemma Walkingshaw (U15 HRC) Javelin.
Second places were secured by Charlie Kelman (U11 HRC) 100m; Hannah Harley (U13 HRC) 100m; Lucy Thomson (U15 DRC) 100m; Luke Krievs (U13 DRC) 100m; Daniel Steward (U15 DRC) 100m; Corey Campbell (U15 DRC) 800m; Luca Horne (U13 DRC) High Jump; Cerys Wright (U11 HRC) Long Jump; Jake Page (U11 DRC) Long Jump and the 4x100m relay team of Renton, Liddell, Bowers and Kelman.
Third places went to Jake Page (U11 DRC) 800m; Lucy Thomson (U15 DRC) 800m; Joshua Liddell (U11 HRC) 800m; Roisin Napier (U13 DRC) 800m; Fraser Lupton (U13 HRC) 800m; Jessica Bullen (U15 DRC) 800m; Colin Riley (U15 HRC) 800m, Shot Putt and Javelin; Evie Welsh (U15 DRC) Shot Putt; Rebecca Kerr U15 HRC) Javelin; Connor Lupton (U13 HRC) High Jump; Olivia Robbins (U13 Dunbar) Hurdles and Aidan Page (U15 DRC) Javelin.
Also taking place at the weekend was the Lower Age Group Youth Development League match at Grangemouth where Team East Lothian athletes gained an impressive 44 Personal Bests out of 68 individual event entries.
Triple Personal Bests were achieved by Adam Hoole in the 100m hurdles, 100m and 200m; Olivia Robbins in the 75m, 1200m and the Long Jump; Sadie Slifer in the 75m, 1200m and Long jump; Gemma Walkingshaw in the Javelin, Discus and Hammer and Lucy Thomson in the 800m, Shot Put and Discus.
Double Personal bests were attained by Ewan Grierson 100m and 300m; Finn Middleton 100m and high jump; Lily Middleton 100m and 300m; Rudie Shearer 800m and 300m; Hannah Pathirana 200m and Javelin; Max Evans 80m Hurdle and Shot Putt; Andrew Gilbert 80m Hurdle and High Jump; Jack Renton 1500m and Discus; Paul Serpenskas Javelin and Discus; Michael Welch Javelin and Long Jump; Laura Buchan 100m and Long jump.
Single Personal bests were earned by Emily McKenzie 100m; Connor Lupton 200m; Gregor Hoggan 200m; Maja Thomson 1500m; Cristina Elliot High jump; Alice Walter High jump and Jamie Smith Javelin.
