Congratulations to MADAC on a Stupendous SUPERteam Victory

Musselburgh and District Junior Athletics Club Boys Team were the 2020 Champions at the 4J Studios SUPERteams Competition which took place at the Emirates Arena on Sunday as part of the 4J Studios Indoor Season.

With around 480 athletes making up 120 teams of U12s, MADAC teams of four boys and four girls, in both A and B groups, competed in four events over the day: 60m sprint; shot put; Long Jump and 4 x 200m relay with the emphasis on the day being a fun introduction to competitions at this level.

The Boys team of Donald Ross; Max Rickis; Howie Allison and Freddie Wood took the overall victory with outstanding performances at each event.  They won the Boys’ 4 x 200m Relay team race while at the individual races Rickis; Allison and Ross delivered first place performances in the Boys’ 60m with Wood taking third.

In the Boys’ Long Jump Allison took third; Rickis fourth; Ross firth and Wood twelfth while in the Shot Put Rickis was second; Ross third; Allison tenth and Wood 16th.

The Boy’s B team also performed exceptionally well with team Nicolas Morley; Jack Scott; Robbie Rutherford and Ross Dargo securing second place in the 4 x 200m Relay.

In their other events there were noteworthy performances in the Boys’ 60m: first place for Dargo; Rutherford fifth; Morley sixth and Scott seventh. Boys’ Long Jump: Dargo third; Rutherford ninth; Scott fifteenth and Morley 22nd. Boys’ Shot Put: Robbie Rutherford first; Nicolas Morley eleventh; Ross Dargo thirteenth and Jack Scott 21st.

The Girls’ had fantastic performances throughout the competition with both 4 x 200m relay teams taking well placed third positions comprising: Christy Taylor; Anya Allison; Thea Cooke and Caitlin Elliot and team: Annabel Morley; Eilidh Scott; Indiana Dalton and Red Macaninch.

In the Girls’ 60m: Morley second; Macaninch third; Scott third and Dalton fourth; Elliot fifth; Cook sixth; Allison sixth and Taylor seventh.

Girls’ Shot Put: Macaninch third; Dalton fourth; Morley fifth; Scott tenth; Cooke 21st; Elliot 22nd; Allison 26thand Taylor 27th.

Girls’ Long Jump: Scott second; Dalton fifth; Morley tenth; Macaninch tenth; Allison 18th; Cooke 19th; Elliot 23rdand Taylor 26th.
