It was the 4th meeting of the Scottish National Junior League series at Grangemouth on Sunday 18 July. Temperatures soared and so did the performances from Team East Lothian athletes, both on the track and in the field.
Corey Campbell again dipped under four minutes for the 1500m in the U17 category, with an impressive time of 3:58.43. Corey is currently ranked in the top 10 for the distance in the UK for U17s in the 1500. Other U17 athletes that achieved new personal bests for the distance were Aidan Page 4:22.56, Jamie Smith 4:40.01 and Maja Thomson 4:46.80.
In the sprints, Gregory Hoggan, U17 and Laura Buchan U20 achieved PBs running 12:09 and 13:62 respectively. Euan Grierson also competed over 100m (12:11).
In the field events, Adam Hoole U20 won first place in the long jump, a clear metre ahead of 2nd place, with a distance of 7:00m. Hoole also competed in the high jump (1:85m). Joe Younger U17 set a new PB for himself in the javelin, throwing 33:36m, whilst Grace Brennan U20 vaulted 2.80m and Erin Hall U17 jumped 4.99m in the triple jump. All athletes are from Team East Lothian and competing for Team Edinburgh in the SNJL event.
