The Scottish Athletics Indoor League (SAIL) was back this year, with three matches over the winter. The league is split into morning clubs (16 including TEL) and afternoon clubs (16). Events are for U12 – U18 and there were 32 clubs taking part.

Athletes compete in teams by age group and the top three teams, per age group, from the morning and top three from the afternoon, go through to the SAIL final.

We were delighted when our U12 girls team qualified for the final!

Our teams and overall placings across the three matches were

U16 boys (5^th) – Ebenezer Eriamiantoe, Otis Burton, Tom Ibbs, Frank Orsi, Rory Perkins

U18 women (9^th) – Madison Taylor, Cara Lai, Heidi Nicholson, Thea Cooke

U18 men (7^th) – David Hunter, Ben Anderson, Max Wishart, Isaac Swan-Ashe

Second placings – Ebenezer (200m in 24.98s), Frank (Shot, 9.01m)

Third placings – Courage (200m in 28.94s), Ebenezer (60m in 7.88s), Tom (800 in 2:16.90), Ava (High Jump, 1.35m), Poppy (Shot, 8.48m)

Match 2

First placings – Adam (High Jump 1.40m), Frank (Shot 9.89m), Isaac (800m in 2:11.7), Sophie (600m A in 1:55.85)

Second placings – Adam (200m in 29.21s), Rory (High Jump, 1.45m), Nina (Long Jump, 3.85m), Tom (800m in 2:18.34)

Third placings – Frank (300m in 41.28s), Sophie (Long Jump A, 3.57m), Hannah (Long Jump B, 3.33m)

Match 3

First placings – Adam (High Jump, 1.35m)

Second placings – Isaac (800m in 2:12.33), Sophie (600m A in 1:54.10), Hannah (Long Jump B, 3.22m), Erin P (Long Jump, 4.63m)

Third placings – Adam (200m in 29.62s), Frank (800m in 2:17.00)

Final

Our U12 girls, Sophie, Aria and Hannah qualified for the final. They performed so well, finishing 3^rd equal (although they were put back to 4^th on countback).

60m – Sophie 3^rd in the A in 9.48s. Hannah 4^th in the B in 9.92s

600m – Sophie 1^st in the A in 1:52.51, Aria 4^th in the B in 2:12.34

Long Jump – Aria 6^th in the A with 3.50m. Hannah 3^rd in the B with 3.46m
