Cera delivers Silver during a busy weekend for TEL athletes

Last weekend featured the 3rd British Athletics Cross Challenge meeting in Sefton Park Liverpool.  Cera Gemmell came 2nd in the U17 women’s race with a thrilling finish in a time of 15:22 giving her a fantastic overall competition standing of 8th place. Well done Cera!

The weekend also saw many TEL athletes heading to Broxburn for the 2nd East District Cross Country League.  The conditions were not kind with heavy rain and a muddy, slippery course. Battling the elements and coming 2nd in their age categories were Corey Campbell (U13) in a time of 9:58 and Angus Wright (U15) in a time of 14:40 gaining them the top East Lothian boys positions.

Top TEL girls were Flora Henry (U15) finishing 5th in a time of 17:05 and Bridget Harley (U15) finishing 8th in a time of 17:16.

Rounding off the top performers was Innes Wright (U13 boys) finishing 10th.

Great performances also from TEL athletes U11 girls: Freya Harley and Robyn Lupton. U11 boys: Sam Renton, Fraser Lupton and Josh Liddell.  U13 boys: Aidan Page, Jack Renton, Connor Lupton and Isaac Stevenson. U15 Boys: Angus Chandler.  U17 Men: Joe Donnelly and Robbie Anderson.

In the team standings U13 TEL boys are sitting 2nd.

It wasn’t just a junior turnout, our very own Cross Country Managers Megan Wright and Rhona Anderson gave amazing performances with Megan (HBT V) finishing in 13th position with a time of 23:29 and Rhona Anderson (DRC) finishing 28th in 24:51!

This Saturday, TEL athletes head to the 1st SAIL match at The Emirates Arena in Glasgow and Sunday will see many heading to the Hay Lodge Park in Peebles for the 3rd Borders XC Winter Series.
